  on prime time television.
• The average child watches 95-125 violent acts
  every week.
• A typical war cartoon, such as Teenage Mutant
  Ninja Turtles, shows about 41 acts of violence
  per hour and an attempt at murder every 2
  minutes.
• By the time an average child (one who watches
  around 2-4 hours of T.V. a night) leaves
  elementary school, theyve witnessed about 8,000
  murders, and viewed about 100,000 other acts of
  violence.

  NBC, ABC, and CBS is approximately 57

• Movies average 46 acts of violence per film.

Steps to Control Violence on TV

• A V-chip device could be added to television sets
  in the future, allowing violent shows to be
  blocked from viewing.
• Educate the parents on how to control the shows
  their child watches.
• Do no place violent shows during prime time.
  Move them to a slot after 9pm.
• A rating system has been added to the basic
  channels so parents can have some knowledge of
  what their child is about to watch.
