Taking Notes
Taking notes is an important key to success!

Prepare for lecture

• Read the assigned chapter before class
• Underline key points
• Write possible questions for discussion during
  lecture.
• Bring paper, pencils, pens and highlighters to
  class.

• Dont try to write down everything, listen for
  key words.
• Listen to what the teacher is saying
• Participate in the discussion
• Ask questions for clarification

• Review notes and highlight key points in textbook

• Color code your flashcards
• Make up funny stories to remember facts

  test.

How to take a test/quiz

• Be prepared! Start studying from day one!
• Read the instructions! Make sure you understand
  what you need to do!
• Ask the teacher to clarify if you are not sure
  what they are asking
• Turn the test over and write out any memory
  tricks or formulas you might need before you
  start the test.
• Look over the test to see what needs to be done
• Start with the easiest part first
• Skip hard problems, come back to them later
• Multiple choice
• Read the question, look at the possible answers,
  reread the question for clarification
• One answer is nonsense, one answer is the
  opposite, only two left a 50/50 chance!
• Review the test, verify all questions are
  answered and documented correctly
• Relax!
