4Log on to a Campus Computer-NetID
- Enter NetID (Username)
- BannerID_at_mxcc.commnet.edu
- Example, John Browns Banner ID is _at_00687968,
then his NetID is 00687968_at_mxcc.commnet.edu - Enter Password
- Initial Password
- 1st three letters of birth month with first
letter capitalized - Ampersand character
- Last 4 digits of SS
- Example
- John Brown was born April of 1968 and SS is
045-84-9583. - His initial password is Apr9583
- Change password
- When you log on the first time, you will be
prompted to change to a new password. - At least 8 characters in length
- At least 3 of the 4 following criteria
- 1. Upper case letters, 2. lower case letters, 3.
numbers, or 4. special characters. - Enter Domain Name (If you type your full NetID,
you dont need to select the domain name) - MxCC

- Click Search for Courses under Other Public
Resources - Select Term Fall 2007
- Select a college Middlesex C C
- Select Level Credit
- Select Instruction Type all
- Keep the rest as default
- Click Get Courses button.
- Course information will be displayed
8Login to myCommNet
- Go to http//my.commnet.edu
- User ID NetID_at_mxcc.commnet.edu
- Pin 8-digit NetID password
- Example of NetID 09109109_at_mxcc.commnet.edu
- Initial PIN
- Birthdate in the format of mmddyy
- Example, John Brown was born April 10, 1980, his
initial password is 041080. - Change password
- Exact 6 characters in length.
- Case sensitive
- At first log on, it prompts you to change to a
new password. It also asks you to enter a
security question with the answer. - Use the same ID and PIN to access campus
computers and remote e-mail (www.mail.commnet.edu)

- You see a list of services and the commonly used

- If you click a menu item listed on this page, you
may be asked to select a Term and CRN first. - Click Summary Class List
12Select a Term and CRN
- Select a term/semester
- Click Term Selection
- Select a term (MxCC Fall 2007).
- Click Submit.
- Select a class/CRN
- Click Select CRN.
- Select a course.
- Click Submit.
13Summary Class List - Class Roster
- Drag the scroll bar down to see the list of
services. - Click Summary Class List. Drag the scroll bar
down to see a list of your students. - You may click a student name to view his/her
address/phone. - The icon indicates that the student has
entered an external e-mail address in Banner. - At the bottom of the page, there is a button
e-mail Entire Class. Click the button, you can
send an e-mail to students with e-mail addresses
entered. - From the Faculty Services page, click Enter
link under Midterm or Final exam, a worksheet may
be available for you to enter grades.
14Student Information/Others
- Once you click a student name from the Summary
Class List, you will see each students address
and phone . - You may click the Student Information link at
the bottom of the window to see more information
about the student. - At the top, there is a menu for you to go back to
personal information, student services, financial
aid, or Faculty Services page.

17Accessing WebCT Vista
You must first log on to http//my.commnet.edu
using your NetID. Click the Faculty Tab In the My
Courses channel, click Click Here to Access WebCT
Vista
18Course List
You will see a list of courses you are
teaching. To enter a course, click the name of
the course
Always click back to Faculty Tab To return to the
myCommNet home page
- Notice the links on the left. Here you can
- run a compatibility check,
- access Vista resources for Faculty and Students,
- and access the help desk,
- And more.
19Access E-mail-NetID
- Your e-mail address is your first initial and
last name_at_mxcc.commnet.edu. - Example John Brown, jbrown_at_mxcc.commnet.edu
- To check your college e-mail off campus, you need
to use NetID and its password to log on. - Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer.
- Type www.mail.commnent.edu into the address box.
- Type your NetID in NetID box.
- Type the password in Password box.
- Click Log On button.

Attachment operations
- Double-click anywhere in a message row. The
message window opens. - To reply to a message, click the "Reply" button.
Type the message and click "Send". - To forward the message, click "Forward", type the
e-mail address to which the message is forwarded.
Type the message and click "Send". - If there is an attachment (Delete any attachment
with name.exe), right-click the attachment
icon. - To read the attached file, select Open to open
the attached file. - To save the attached file, select Save Target
As. Select a folder where you want to save.
Click "Save" button.
23Send a Message
- Click the New icon.
- Type the e-mail address, subject, and message.
click "Send" button. Use between addresses. - Type the subject and message. Then click "Send".
24Search for an Address in Outlook
- You can search for an e-mail address if the
person has an account with any of the 12 CT
Community Colleges. - In the message window, click To button.
- Type the last name and first name. Click Find
button. - Select the persons information and click To
button. Click Close button to close the window.
25Send a File as Attachment
- If you want to send a file attached to your
message, before clicking the "Send" button, you
click Add Attachment icon. - Click Browse button. Select the folder where
you save the file. Select the file you want to
send, click Open button. - Click "Attach" button, click "Close" button to
close the attachments window. - Click "Send" button after typing the message.
26Delete E-mail
- In the Inbox Window, select the message you want
to delete. Click Delete button. - To delete more than one message at once, press
CTRL key while selecting the messages. - The deleted messages are stored in Deleted Items
folder. To permanently delete the massages - Right-click Deleted Items on the left window.
- Select Empty Deleted Items icon.
27Changing Your Password
- Click Options at the bottom left corner.
- Drag the vertical bar on the right all the way to
the bottom. - Click Change Password button.
- Type the old password and new password twice.
- Click "OK".
