implementing recommendations 6 and 10. - Pursue efforts to interface with design teams
working on recommendations related to
professional development and evaluation. - Clarify the intent and urge KSDE to begin
immediately the department work included in KELC
recommendation 10 so that information can be
used for preparation, induction, professional
development and evaluation. - Review induction related activity from around the
U.S. and capture benchmark models. - Delineate the essential elements of high quality
programs

- Reviewing ways to communicate with school
districts to develop strategies for
implementation and creative ways to develop
incentives to be a teacher leader - KSBE is working to create the foundation for a
license in Teacher Leadership - The five state consortium Kansas, Ohio, Delaware,
Alabama and Kentucky (KODAK) have completed a
comprehensive curriculum for use by higher
education institutions - 14 courses were developed and are available on CD
or on the Leadership Commission Website
