The Scheduling Process
  • Students received course selection materials on
    March 13th during homeroom
  • Students were asked to complete the course
    selection form and return it during their
    scheduled visit (March 23-25)
  • Scheduling documents are also available on our
    website www.appohigh.org

Scheduling Process Cont.
  • AHS Guidance Counselors will visit 8th grade
    students on the following dates
  • Waters Middle School March 23rd
  • Redding Middle School March 24th
  • Meredith Middle School March 25th
  • MOT Charter April 2nd
  • Counselors will present course selection
    information, answer questions and review
    students course selection forms

  • Course Units of Credit
  • English 4
  • Social Studies 4
  • Mathematics 4
  • Science 3
  • Career Pathway 3
  • Electives 3.5
  • Physical Education 1
  • Health 0.5
  • Senior Project (must meet standard)

Promotion/Retention Requirements
  • In order to be promoted to 10th grade
  • Students must take a full schedule in 9th grade
    (8 credits)
  • Students must earn 5 credits 4 of which must be
    English, math, science and social studies
  • Students who do not meet these criteria will be
    scheduled into appropriate courses the next
    year/semester

Career Pathway
  • A planned program of sequenced or specialized
    courses designed to develop knowledge and skills
    in a particular career area
  • 3 credits in a Career Pathway are required for
    graduation
  • The Career Pathway is not a life- long career
    choice and may not necessarily be something a
    student would like to pursue following graduation
    from high school

Block Scheduling
  • Students will have four 90-minute periods per
    semester. Each period is a block
  • All courses except Algebra I w/ Stats will be
    offered in a 90 minute block period for one
    semester

    within a block

Athletics cont.
  • A sports information night will be held over the
    summer for fall sports
  • Tryouts will start in mid-August
  • Students who wish to participate in any athletic
    program must have a sports physical prior to
    tryouts for that sport
