• Make devices in school more energy efficient
• Energy efficient light bulbs
• Use A rated appliances

Switch off unused appliances

• Circulate a notice to all staff and students to
  ensure unused appliances are switched off
• Use motion sensors to ensure that lights switch
  off automatically if no motion is detected for
  thirty minutes
• Use colourful poster system with catchy slogans

• School is completely insulated to minimise heat
  loss
• Double Glazed windows
• Loft Insulation
• Draught Proofing around doors
• Jacket for boiler to prevent useful heat
  escaping

• Install energy efficient, condensing boiler and
  overhaul old heating system
• Use the roof to cultivate grass. This will
  insulate the school. This solution has been
  practically used in countries such as Norway and
  the Arctic

Transport

• Those who live more than thirty minutes walk from
  the school to use school buses
• Those who live closer can walk

• Run school buses on new bio fuel, made from
  ethanol
• Teachers can carpool more than one person per
  car

• Wave power school is by the sea
• Tidal power tides happen twice a day without
  fail
• Wind generators windy location
• Methane from decomposed waste can be used for
  cooking and in the lab

• Solar energy is insufficient for an energy
  source because there is hardly any sun, it can be
  used for heating water or other minor uses
• Pavilion can be lit in summer by solar energy
• Roof of Crampton Hall could be covered with solar
  cells, lighting and heating the hall

Using different food sources

• Teach pupils how to grow food using school
  grounds or church allotment
• Purchase food from local produce i.e. from nearby
  farms
• Importing food from abroad causes pollution
• Use organic produce, free from pesticides or
  chemical fertilisers

Food Waste

• Make compost out of organic waste and
  biodegradable items e.g. grass cuttings, leaves
  from trees
• Use compost to grow food
• Leftover compost can be used to encourage growth
  of other plants

• Rainwater harvesting for drinking and other uses
• Unused swimming pool could be converted into
  rainwater catchment tank
• Tank is on highest ground available to prevent
  contamination

• Use water twice, waste water from sinks and
  washing machines, dishwashers etc. can be used to
  flush toilets
• Sewers can use natural downhill slope to carry
  waste water away from catchment area

• Paper towels could be limited
• Recycling bins made compulsory
