Initial Questions
  • What is a human?
  • What is an animal?
  • What separates the two?

4
  • How should we relate to beings who look into
mirrors and see themselves as individuals, who
mourn companions and may die of grief, who have a
consciousness of 'self?' Don't they deserve to be
treated with the same sort of consideration we
accord to other highly sensitive beings
    ourselves?
  • Should animals be considered equivalents of
humans because of qualities that are similar to
    humans? All animals?

5
Jane Goodall Bio

6
Quotes
  • The greatest danger to our future is apathy.
  • Every individual matters. Every individual has a
role to play. Every individual makes a
    difference.
  • The least I can do is speak out for those who
    cannot speak for themselves.
  • I wanted to talk to the animals like Dr.
    Doolittle.

7
More Quotes
  • Especially now when views are becoming more
polarized, we must work to understand each other
    across political, religious and national
    boundaries.
  • Lasting change is a series of compromises. And
compromise is all right, as long your values
    don't change.
  • We can't leave people in abject poverty, so we
need to raise the standard of living for 80 of
the world's people, while bringing it down
considerably for the 20 who are destroying our
    natural resources.
  • Which quote resonates with you the most?

the tools to learn, care, and act on local
    environmental and humanitarian issues.
  • A gift of 35 provides three days worth of food,
shelter, and care for an orphaned chimp in one of
    our JGI sanctuaries.
  • A gift of 500 enables one girl from rural
Tanzania to attend secondary school for a year,
