Audreys Childhood

• Audrey was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1929
• Her family secretly raised funds for the Dutch
  Resistance
• She lived in Europe during WWII
• She suffered from eating disorders all her life
  because she got used to not having enough food
  during this war
• Ballet was a passion of hers but she was too tall
  to make a career out of it.

• Her first major movie was Roman Holiday, 1952
• Won an Oscar for Best Actress
• Breakfast at Tiffanys is most famous role
• Did War and Peace with husband, Mel Ferrer
• Other movies include The Unforgiven, My Fair
  Lady, Paris When It Sizzles, and Charade

• She became a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF in
  1988
• Audrey worked with Barbara Bush during her work
  with UNICEF
• She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom
  by President Bush and the Child Survival Award by
  President Carter

• Audrey was married 3 times and had 2 children
• She cut down on making movies in order to be able
  to work with UNICEF
• Audrey was diagnosed with caner in 1992
• She died in 1993 at the age of 63
