The Throne Scene (41-11)
  • 411 Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to
receive glory and honor and power for You
created all things and because of Your will they
    existed, and were created.

5
Only The Lamb Is Worthy (51-14)
  • 59-10 Worthy are You to take the book and to
break its seals for You were slain, and
purchased for God with Your blood men from every
tribe and tongue and people and nation. You have
made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God
and they will reign upon the earth.
  • Each seal brings judgment. The 7th seal brings 7
trumpets, the last of which announces the
complete fulfillment of Gods plan in the
establishment of His eternal kingdom (Rev.
    1115-19).

6
The Four Horsemen (61-8)
  • The first four seals reveal forces God would use
    in carrying out His judgments.
  • White (Military Conquest) ...a crown was given
    to him...
  • Red (War) ...it was granted to the one...
    there was given to him...
  • Black (Famine) ...a voice in the midst of the
    four living creatures saying
  • Pale (Death Hades) ...power was given to
    them...

7
The Fifth Seal (69-11)
  • I saw underneath the altar the souls of those
who had been slain because of the word of God,
and because of the testimony which they had
maintained and they cried out with a loud voice,
saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, will
You refrain from judging and avenging our blood
on those who dwell on the earth?
  • No need to limit this to NT saints.Matthew
    2329-39

8
The Sixth Seal (612-14)
  • These are symbols God repeatedly uses for
    judgment.
  • Isaiah 1310,13 (re Babylon) For the stars of
heaven and their constellations will not give
their light the sun will be darkened in its
going forth, And the moon will not cause its
light to shine. Therefore I will shake the
heavens, And the earth will move out of her
place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts And in
the day of His fierce anger.
  • Isaiah 296 (re Jerusalem) You will be
punished by the LORD of hosts with thunder and
earthquake and great noise, with storm and
tempest and the flame of devouring fire.

9
The Sixth Seal (612-14)
  • Jesus used these same words about the destruction
    of Jerusalem in 70 A.D.
  • Matt. 2429 Immediately after the tribulation
of those days the sun will be darkened, and the
moon will not give its light the stars will fall
from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will
    be shaken.
  • See also Ezekiel 3817-23
  • See also Joel 228-32

10
The Sixth Seal (615-17)
  • Jesus used these same words about the destruction
    of Jerusalem in 70 A.D.
  • Luke 2330 Then they will begin to say to the
mountains, Fall on us! and to the hills, Cover
    us!

11
The Sixth Seal (615-17)
  • Similar words are used against any nation that
    is about to be destroyed.
  • Isaiah 219 (re Babylon) They shall go into
the holes of the rocks, And into the caves of the
earth, from the terror of the LORD and the glory
of His majesty, when He arises to shake the earth
    mightily.
  • Hosea 108 (re 10 tribes of Israel) the sin
of Israel shall be destroyed. they shall say to
the mountains, Cover us! And to the hills,
    Fall on us!

12
Sealing of the 144,000 (71-8)
  • Can the servants of God withstand the judgments
    of the Seven Seals?
  • 71-4 The 7th Seal is not broken until the
servants of God are sealed on their foreheads
    (protection ownership). See Ezekiel 94-5
  • 12 x 12 x 1,000 from every tribe (but not
    Ephraim Dan 2 golden calves)
  • Spiritual Israel! see Gal. 616

13
The Great Multitude (79-17)
  • This same group of faithful Christians is now
    pictured in heaven.
  • 79 from every nation and all tribes and
peoples standing before the throne and before
    the Lamb
  • 710 they cry out Salvation
  • 714 these come out of the great tribulation
have washed their robes in the blood of the
    Lamb. See Matt. 2421

14
7th Seal 7 Trumpets (81-13)
  • Silence in heaven for half an hour shows the
gravity of the judgments to come.
  • 81-5 Taking fire from the altar of incense and
throwing it to earth shows the connection between
the martyred saints and the wrath of God their
blood is being avenged. See Rev. 69
  • Trumpets were used to sound the alarm and prepare
    the people for trouble.

15
7th Seal 7 Trumpets (81-13)
  • 87 The First Trumpet Brings Partial
    Destruction Upon Israel
  • Hail and fire, mixed with blood bloodshed of
unrighteous Jews being returned upon their own
    heads? (see Matt. 2334-35)
  • Earth often refers to the land of Israel.
  • 1/3 of the earth - Vespasian destroyed Galilee
first as he came toward Jerusalem in A.D. 69.

16
7th Seal 7 Trumpets (81-13)
  • 88-9 The Second Trumpet Brings Partial
    Destruction Upon The Heathen Nations
  • Mountains are symbolic for kingdoms (Jer. 5125)
and the Sea is symbolic of the heathen nations
    (Dan. 72).
  • God cast the burning mountain (Rome) into the sea
    (nations). Many neighboring nations were
destroyed during the Roman Civil War of A.D.
    68-70.

17
7th Seal 7 Trumpets (81-13)
  • 810-11 The Third Trumpet Brings The Bitterness
    of Idolatry Upon Many Peoples
  • Falling stars symbolize the fall of a king or
ruler (Isa. 1412). Waters are peoples,
nations, multitudes, and tongues (Rev. 171,15).
Wormwood is nearly always associated with
idolatry (Deut. 2819 Jer. 915 2315) and its
    consequences (Amos 56, 612).
  • The fallen star is probably the Roman empire, as
it enforced idolatry (emperor worship) upon the
peoples of the world, including Israel.

18
7th Seal 7 Trumpets (81-13)
  • 812 The Fourth Trumpet Casts The Nations Into
    Darkness
  • Light from the sun, moon and stars signifies
happiness, truth, wisdom, joy and salvation.
  • The darkening of the skys lights symbolize
judgment as God pours forth his wrath upon Israel
and surrounding nations. (Isa. 1310 Joel 315
    Amos 89)

19
7th Seal 7 Trumpets (81-13)
  • 813 Three Woes Remain
  • The first 4 trumpets are broad in nature,
proclaiming Gods judgment in four ways
  • Destruction among cities of Israel (Earth)
  • Destruction among Heathen Nations (Sea)
  • Bitterness of Idolatry (Wormwood)
  • Darkness Upon All Nations (Judgment)
  • The remaining 3 blasts will specifically affect
    those upon the earth (Israel).
