  • Humans are the main cause of rainforest
destruction or deforestation. Humans are cutting
down rainforests for many reasons, including
  • 1. wood for both timber and wood for making
    fires
  • 2. agriculture for both small and large
    farms
  • 3. land for poor farmers who don't have
    anywhere else to live
  • 4. grazing land for cattle and
  • 5. road construction
  • The Amazon Rainforest could be gone by the year
    2025.

What can you do to save the rainforest?
  • Use less paper Since paper comes from trees,
using less paper can help save the rainforest.
  • Eat less red meat Since the cleared land is
turned into grass pastures for cows, eating less
red meat can help save the rainforest.
  • Use less gas and plastic Gas and plastic are
made from oil. Since oil extraction is very
harmful to the rainforest, using less oil
products can help save the rainforests.
  • Educate yourself about the rainforest -
Rainforests are magical places that are important
to every living thing on earth.
  • Write a letter Writing letters to companies
that destroy the rainforest is VERY powerful.
