SET4 Life
2SET4 Life is.
a learning programme that began in August 2003,
and is primarily aimed at young people aged 16-18
who are not participating in any form of post-16
learning. It is designed to help them to develop
their motivation and confidence, personal
effectiveness and basic and key skills, and to
give them a range of opportunities to gain
vocational knowledge, skills and understanding.
The aim is that they will progress into an
Apprenticeship, further learning and/or a job.
3SET4 Life
No entry requirements. 16 18yrs. 19 learners
that qualify will need permission from the LSC
before starting with us. A young person can
come to us via any route. Connexions will need to
be involved to start off the learners Passport.
4What are the 2 options on SET4 Life?
Option 1 If a learner is not sure what they want
to do then this is the option for them. This
option explores different occupational areas. It
helps them decide whats best for them and the
best way to achieve it.college? A job? An
Apprenticeship?
Option 2 This is the option for young people who
are interested in getting a job and not in
further education. It will support them with work
ready skills.
5SET4 Life
- 30 per week Give the young person an EMA pack
and a stamped Declaration form. - All travel reimbursed.
- Holiday Entitlement accrue 2 days per month.
- Minimum of 16hrs per week to progress to 30hrs a
week. - Can work up to 10hrs per week paid employment.
- Work tasters to gain practical skills.
- In house programme to support their learning
needs.
6SET4 Life - Bonuses
Learners can achieve bonuses throughout their
training. They will accrue 5 per week and can
start claiming after 10 weeks on programme.

hey will set relevant targets and work towards
them, when they achieve they earn .
7Support Guidance
- Regular updates on progress and achievements.
- LEC Support
- Pastoral Care - will support a young person who
may have barriers that prevent them progressing
on their course. - Mock Interviews.
- Strong partnerships with outside agencies.
