3Inuit
The Canadian Inuit live mostly in Nunavut . The
Inuit primarily live by the Mackenzie river . On
land the Inuit used dogsled the husky dog type .
The mostly eat whale ( narwhale , humpback ) .
The live in Igloos and the are warm . The are
respected for there carvings of soapstone . Wore
two types of clothes .
4Cree
The Cree is an indigenous people of north America
.The now constitute the largest first nation
people in Canada and are referred as to native
Americans in the United states . Skilled hunters
and horseman the were allies to the Assiniboine
and Sioux . Not all Crees are fluent in English
and French . The cree language is Algounquin ,
wich is shared by Chippawa.
5Haida
The Haida live on the Queen charlotte islands .
The haida are known as the children of the Eagle
and the Raven . Art is important to them .They
have a balance of human , nature and Spirits .The
Queen Charlotte are called Haida Gwaii . They
depended on salmon . Their houses were on the
beaches in rows. The houses were made from
western red cedar .
6Blackfoot
Blackfoot is found to be so diverse from other
language groups, the blood tribe was a vibrant ,
self reliant tribe . Its well developed social
structure that provided an excellent in every
aspect. Out of kinship of the Bison they called
to it did not chase to death . In addition to its
size the Bison also had a keen sense of hearing
and smell
7Blood
The blood cultivated and maintained an attitude
of independence and fierce pride for there
identity The blood had a reserve of land
designated for them along the bow river which was
surveyed 1878 . The blood and the Blackfoot both
were strict about there home land and bands .The
would not easily let over there land
8Shuswap (Secwepemc)
The shushwap was the most important salish tribe
. These people also catch salmon however they
catch in the Frasiar river ,using nets. This is a
nation of 17 bands. They have lived in B.C. for
10 000 years. In the winter they lived in pit
houses . They were involved in fishing , hunting
and trading .
