  • Divides foods into four different groups
    depending on the type of nutrients they have, and
    where they come from
  • Provides a wide range of servings needed from
    each food group to account for different peoples
    gender, age, and activity level

  • Each food group is important and has its own role
    to play in keeping us healthy!

  • Breads, pastas, cereals, rice
  • Important for providing our bodies with
    carbohydrates this gives us energy!
  • Whole grains also provide fiber good for our

    iron, folic acid, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin
    E, and the B-vitamins
