The Dachshund

• Dachshunds are vertebrates. They have back bones.
• They come in all different colors, like black,
  tan, a reddish, and chocolate. They can also be
  dappled with spots.
• Dachshunds have deep chests, and look beautiful
  with long hair. Some have short hair.

Facts about Dachshunds

• The dachshund breed comes from Germany.
• They were used for hunting, and caught small
  animals like rabbits, moles, chipmunks, and
  squirrels.
• A lot of dachshunds have back problems because
  there long.

My Dachshund

• In the summer when my family spends the day
  outside, my dachshund Penny follows. She is meant
  to be a hunting dog so she digs holes searching
  for moles! Penny also barks at squirrels in the
  trees. My old dachshund who died, well she was
  truly a hunter. Before I was born she would catch
  rabbits, moles, and squirrels and bring them to
  the door. My parents were disgusted.
