Introduction to Rome
  • Rome was a great empire who conquered almost all
    of Europe and it had many important leaders and
    the beginning of a new religion.
  • Rome today is an important city which is the
    capital of Italy and has a lot of historical
    sites.

Roman Emperors
  • Gaius Julius Ceaser (100-44 B.C.) Roman Emperor
    who declared himself dictator and was assasinated
    by the Senate.
  • Augustus Ceaser (63 B.C.-14 A.D.) First emperor
    of Rome. He restored peace In Rome for 200 years
    known as the Pax Ramona.
  • Marcus Aralias (121-180 A.D.) He engaged in so
    many battles that he became popular.
  • Marc Anthony (83-30 B.C.)was the second husband
    of Cleopatra and emperor of Rome for 10 years.

  • The Pax Ramona was a period of 200 years of peace
    in Rome.
  • Pompeii was a city of 20,000 people, which the
    city was covered with ashes from a volcano.
  • The Punic Wars was a war between Rome and
    Carthage.

    476 A.D.
  • The founding of Rome was in 753 B.C.

  • Sicily was an island in the Southwest of Rome.
  • Rome is located in Southern Europe.
  • Carthage was located in Northwestern Africa.
  • Gaul was also part of Rome now known today as
    France.
  • Britannia also known as England was part of Rome
    but they only had half of England and that was
    the south part.
  • Germany was called Germannia and they were the
    enemies of Rome.

  • Rome was a republic country.
  • The most powerful person was the emperor.
  • Rome also had dictators.
  • Romes government was made up of the senate and
    the consuls.
  • In the year 367 B.C. the first the first pleabian
    was elected to be consul.

  • Roman language was Latin.
  • After a while they changed theyre language to
    Italian.
  • Rome borrowed many ideas from Greece like the
    gods. The gods were the same but just had
    different names.
  • The Roman Army was the backbone o Rome.
  • Jesus was the one who created Christianity and
    after Jesus was killed a lot of people became
    Christian.
