• Is it ethical to monitor employees e-mails?
• YES, if there is a billion dollars at risk for
  the chip patent they should be allowed to monitor
  e-mails regardless of ethics.

• Can the company monitor your internet usage? Is
  it ethical?
• YES again for the same reason they should be
  allowed to view your e-mail. A lot of money is at
  risk and they have a right to protect their
  intellectual patents. One way is to monitor web
  site access.

• Why would a company take these steps?
• To maintain the integrity of the intellectual
  property of such said company ensuring the
  companys survival in the market. Whether it is
  ethical or not, the company has a right to take
  any steps necessary to protect themselves from
  harm or destruction. Through these measures of
  pre-caution, they are able to achomplish this.

The JOB

• Would we still take the job?
• Yes, because we all understand these steps are
  necessary to protect the company and if the chip
  is really that promising, what is giving up a few
  privacy options over the big buckaroos!

What can/should we do?

• There is nothing we really can do except accept
  the parameters necessary to protect the companys
  assets and our own. We should help the company
  and give into what ever is necessary to work
  there so we can be filthy rich.
