What happened in the beginning
  • In the beginning, the government DID NOT let
    women fight in the war. So a lot of the women
    took over the jobs that the men left and the
    women took the jobs to stay wealthy. Sometimes
    they would even have to go to different countries
    for jobs. Here are some of the jobs.
  • Mechanics
  • Farmers
  • Nurses- Ambulance drivers (witch they went to
    Europe to do)
  • Fighter pilots
  • Some worked in weapon factories

What was the 19th amendment
  • A lot of the women's work brought a lot of
    thought to mind witch brought out the 19th
    Amendment in 1920. Witch stated Women have the
    Write to vote. I brought a lot of joy to the
    women.

Katherine Stinson
  • Katherine Stinson, she lived in San Antonio,
    Texas, She really wanted to start and to become a
    fighter pilot in the World War 1. Katherine was
    starting to fly in the year 1910, and her mother
    also opened a flying school in 1913. But the army
    would still not let her fly in the war. So
    instead she decided to fly across the US to help
    raise money for RED CROSS. Then she also went to
    Europe to be a Ambulance Driver.

  • Carrie Chapman Catt was a womens suffrage
    leader. Carrie named the 19th amendment, The
    greatest thing that came out of the war.

  • A lot of the women helped by taking the jobs that
    the men left to go to the war. Here are the
    examples of the jobs they took over. Mechanics,
    Farmers and Police Officers. But there is a lot
    more. They took over these jobs so they could
