012 ANALYSIS OF SOIL COMPOSITION
To know the nature of the soil is very important
for gardening. In water, particles settle more
quickly the bigger they are. It is possible to
use this property to determine the amount of each
component of the soil.
MATERIALS REQUIRED
Glass jar/an empty bottle One cup of soil
sample Three cups of water

Add one cup of soil and 3 cups of water into the
jar. Stir well, and if using a bottle close lid
and shake well. Leave it to stand till all
particles settle.
