Determine
  • Is there enough space available between the last
    item on the AO Bench and the HiCIAO Vacuum Jacket
    for insertion of the HiCIAO Fore-Optics?
  • What is the space taken up by the HiCIAO
    Fore-Optics along the Optical Path? Will it fit
    with the present location of HiCIAO Vacuum Jacket
    w.r.t. the Nearest Target Assembly as shown in
    previous slide?
  • Find a solution to the Installation Sequence for
    HiCIAO on the Subaru Nasmyth Floor.

Dimension C
  • Dimension C What is the distance between the
    Center of the Target Assembly shown and the last
    item on the AO Bench??? (this is for Mike). I
    think the last item will be the Interface Plate
    onto which we mount the HiCIAO Fore-Optics.
  • Once I have this number C, I can then determine
    the CLEAR space available between the HiCIAO
    Vacuum Jacket and the AO Bench.
  • This is the space into which we must fit the
    HiCIAO Fore-Optics.
  • If it is not enough, then the Instrument Support
    Frame (ISF) will have to be modified!

Summary
  • 1) The ISF is ready to be detailed, but until we
    are absolutely certain that we can install the
    instrument on the Nasmyth Floor, I will not be
    able to make detail drawings for the Fabrication.
    This means we need to know how much space is
    required for the HiCIAO Fore-Optics in the
    horizontal direction.
