  • Emergency Notification System (ENS) consists of
    two primary components
  • Voice Provided by Sigmas Reverse 911 (R911)

  • Text Provided by Roam Secure, Incs Roam Secure
    Alert Network (RSAN)

  • Voice Component - R911
  • Uses the E-911 Database to initiate emergency
    voice calls to landline telephones in response to
    declared emergency events (E-911 Database use
    restricted to emergency use only)
  • Capable of placing voice calls to cell phones if
    the cell phones are registered with the R911
    component
  • Consists of two servers, each with a 24 port
    telephone interface for a total of 48 ports
  • Capable of making 96 thirty second calls/min
    5,760/hr 138,240/day

  • Text Component - RSAN
  • Provides a web interface to initiate emergency
    text based messages to text enabled devices i.e.
    Blackberrys, Cell Phones, Pagers, etc.
  • All text devices must be registered with the RSAN
    component to receive text based messages
  • Consists of two servers Citizens Warning System
    Emergency Management Administration System
  • Text message distribution only limited by network
    capability. Typically up to 86,000 text messages
    in a few minutes

  • Initial Dataload Emergency Services
  • Both the R911 (voice component) and RSAN (text
    component) will be configured for Emergency
    Services event activation.
  • Activation hierarchy will be based on The
    Countys Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)
  • Emergency contact information is needed from all
    Agencies/Departments no later than 02/14
  • Agencies/Departments need to identify a primary
    and alternate who will be responsible for
    departmental emergency call out activation no
    later than 02/14
