Timeline for Juniors

• Post Secondary Planning Evening Program
• Individual Parent/Student/Counselor conference
• Plan to go to the College Fair (April 3rd and
  4th)
• Develop a list of schools of interest in Naviance
• Visit the schools
• Complete the BHS School Resume during the
  summer(on the Boltonpublicschools.com website
  under the High School Guidance tab)
• Complete Parent Input Form and Student
  Autobiographical Sketch
• September small group meetings with Mrs.
  Huntington or Mrs. Spivak
• Complete applications

• You are responsible for
• Application Fee

• Request letters of recommendation from Teachers
• Completing the green notification sheet

• Guidance is responsible for

• Test Scores Reported
• Recommendation Letters in your file
  (teacher/counselor)

Online Application

• All Colleges and Universities prefer that you
  submit your application on-line.
• You can access the Common Application form online
  through a link in the Naviance program.
• Complete the Green BHS Notification Sheet

SAT/ACT/Subject Tests

• SAT scores and ACT scores will be on your
  transcript. Many schools require that you also
  send the scores directly from College Board.
• SAT Subject Tests It is your responsibility to
  check with your colleges to see what (if any)
  specific tests they require.

Teacher Recommendations

• Colleges want at least two teacher
  recommendations as well as the school
  recommendation.
• Ask a teacher for a recommendation via Naviance.
  The link for this is in the Colleges folder on
  the Colleges that I am applying to page.
• After you have send your email request to the
  teachers, be sure to talk with them directly to
  write a recommendation for you. Remember to say
  Thank you!
• Teachers will be looking at your Resume in
  Naviance when writing your recommendation so it
  is important that your resume is up to date.
