Overview
  • Any registered student or alumnus who attended a
    mandatory information session will need to submit
    his/her résumé and schedule through Careers2Geaux
    (click the Careers2Geaux button at online at
    www.lsu.edu/career)
  • Students and alumni may apply to positions for
    which they qualify beginning Saturday, February
    8, 2010.
  • If you attended an information session but are
    not able to view the organizations attending
    Construction Interviewing Day once résumé
    submissions open, please contact Jesse Downs at
    jdowns_at_lsu.edu
  • Visit www.lsu.edu/career/cid to find
    event-specific resources that will help you
    prepare for Construction Interviewing Day.

Overview Résumé Submissions
  • The résumé submission deadline for Construction
    Interviewing Day is Sunday, February 14, 2010.
    Students and alumni "request interviews by
    submitting résumés via Careers2Geaux.Once the
    résumé submission date has passed, the companies
    review the résumés and select students whom they
    would like to interview.

Overview Interview Scheduling
  • Preselected students and alumni will schedule
    interviews in the Careers2Geaux system February
    22-26. Schedules are accessible via
    Careers2Geaux.

Overview OCI Policy
  •  
  • You cannot participate in
  • Construction Interviewing Day until you have
  • read and understand the On-Campus Interviewing
    policy, available online at
  • www.lsu.edu/career/oci.

Signing Up for CID
  • Log into Careers2Geaux (or create an account) by
    clicking the Careers2Geaux button at the top of
    the
  • www.lsu.edu/career Web site.
  • Hover over "My Account" (Top Navigation Bar)
  • Click My Profile.
  • Make sure your graduation date, major, etc., are
    accurate.
  • If applicable, upload new or updated documents to
    My Résumés and Job Search Materials.
  • Hover over On-Campus Interviewing on the top
    navigation bar to search for companies that will
    interview.

Two Ways to Search
  • Interviews I Qualify For will only show you
    active job postings for which you meet the
    recruiters qualifications (This is why it is
    important that your profile is up to date!!!)
  • THIS IS HOW YOU MUST SEARCH IN ORDER TO SCHEDULE
    !!!
  • Search (VIEW) All Upcoming Interviews allows
    you to search by a variety of criteria (company
    name, interview date, geographic location, majors
    recruited, etc.) and shows you all results, even
    jobs for which you do not qualify.
  • Results will include the Job Title, Employer
    Name, Job Location, Interview Date, Current
    Schedule Activity, and Schedule Type.

Schedule Type
  • Preselect Process You must submit a résumé to be
    considered for this interview schedule employers
    will review all submissions and select candidates
    to interview. You will be notified about your
    acceptance status by e-mail. You will be unable
    to schedule an interview until Accepted Student
    Sign-in is open.

Applying
  • Under On-Campus Interviews, click Interviews I
    Qualify For
  • Click on a position to review the posting
    information.
  • Click Apply Now (left tab, under Page
    Functions).
  • You will be prompted to pick documents (résumé,
    cover letter, etc.) that should have previously
    been uploaded in the My Account section of your
    profile.

Applying
  • Choose relevant documents to send to the employer
    and click Save. We recommend that you submit a
    résumé tailored to the specific position.

Be Mindful of the Timeline
  • Accepted Student Sign-in Open the first day you
    can schedule an interview if you are preselected
  • Alternate Student Sign-in Open the first day
    you can schedule an interview (if there are spots
    available) if you are selected as an alternate
  • Sign Ups Closed you are no longer able to sign
    up for an interview

Signing Up for Preselect Interviews
  • Log into Careers2Geaux.
  • Hover over "My Account" and click "My Activity."
  • Click the "Schedules" tab.
  • Click the "Preselects" tab.
  • Click on the position title for which you have
    been accepted as a preselect.

Signing Up for Preselect Interviews
  • Click the "Sign Up" button on the left navigation
    bar.
  • Click the interview date.
  • Click "Sign Up" next to the interview time of
    your choice (times are first come, first served).
  • You should see red text confirming your
    selection
  • "You have successfully signed up for the
    requested timeslot."

Canceling/Changing an Interview
  • Please note that if you want to cancel an
    interview, you should do so before the interview
    sign-up period closes (before February 26, 2010).
    Refer to the On-Campus Interviewing Policy,
    online at www.lsu.edu/career/oci, to learn about
    the consequences of late cancellations.
  • Log into Careers2Geaux.
  • Hover over "My Account" and click "My Activity."
  • Click the "Schedules" tab.
  • Click the "Interviews" tab.
  • Pick the appropriate job title.

Canceling/Changing an Interview
  • Scroll down and pick the session you are on.
  • Click "Actions." This will allow you to either
    remove yourself or choose another time.
  • I f you need to cancel an interview after the
    scheduling period is over (after February 26,
    2010) you will need to
  • Notify career services (call 578- 2162 or email
    jdowns_at_lsu.edu)
  • AND
  • 2. Notify the employer contact listed in
    Careers2Geaux
