Introduction
This experiment was designed to see which would
freeze faster, hot or cold water.

Hypothesis
In this experiment I felt that the cold water
would freeze before the hot water even when the
water was in thin layer.

Experiment
1. The first thing I did was boil some water. 2.
Then I got two pie pans 3. I put 1 cup of boiling
water in the pie pan 4. I put tap water in the
other pie pan 5. Then I put them both in the
freezer 6. I checked the water every 15 minutes

Materials
For this experiment I used water, pie pans,
stove, measuring cup, freezer.

Data
Determining which froze first the hot or the cold
water and the cold water froze before the hot
water.

Discussion and Analysis
My data does support my hypothesis that cold
water would freeze before hot water. To improve
this experiment I would have 3 trails. I would
also time the freezing.

Conclusion
From my experiment I can conclude that cold water
freezes before hot water when 1 cup of water is
placed in pie pan.

Explanation
The idea for this experiment came from dicussions
in class about whether hot water froze faster
than cold water.some people thought that the cold
would freeze first and others felt that the hot
would. But the cold water froze first.
