Why?
  • Need to know if a L1VPN connection can be set up
    from a CE to another CE.
  • TE Database only has partial view of PE-CE links
  • PE-CE Resources are local
  • Need to deliver a resource view of CE-PE links to
    L1vpn PEs (and optionally to CEs).
  • This document defines a new BGP attribute,
    Traffic Engineering attribute that enables BGP to
    carry Traffic Engineering information.
  • Enables BGP to Carry information about PE-CE Link
    resources
