WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF YOUR SACRIFICES?
  • ISAIAH 111-15
  • 11 To what purpose is the multitude of your
sacrifices to Me? says the LORD. I have had
enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of
fed cattle. I do not delight in the blood of
bulls, or of lambs or goats.
  • 12 When you come to appear before Me, who has
required this from your hand, to trample My
    courts?
  • 13 Bring no more futile sacrifices incense is an
abomination to Me. The New Moons, the Sabbaths,
and the calling of assemblies-- I cannot endure
    iniquity and the sacred meeting.
  • 14 Your New Moons and your appointed feasts my
soul hates they are a trouble to Me, I am weary
    of bearing them.
  • 15 When you spread out your hands, I will hide My
eyes from you even though you make many prayers,
I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.

4
WHAT ABOUT BURNT OFFERINGS AND SACRIFICES?
  • JEREMIAH 722-24
  • 22 I did not speak to your fathers, or command
them in the day that I brought them out of the
land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or
    sacrifices.
  • 23 I commanded them, saying Obey My voice, and I
will be your God and you shall be My people. Walk
in all the ways that I have commanded you that it
    may be well with you.
  • 24 Yet they did not obey or incline their ear,
but followed the counsels and the dictates of
their evil hearts, and went backward and not
    forward.
  • HOSEA 66
  • 6 I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the
knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

5
WHO DOES THE LORD SEEK TO WORSHIP HIM?
  • JOHN 420-24
  • 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain and you
Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one
    ought to worship.
  • 21 Jesus said to her, Woman, believe Me, the hour
is coming when you will neither on this mountain,
nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
  • 22 You worship what you do not know we know what
we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.
  • 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the
true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit
and truth for the Father is seeking such to
    worship Him.
  • 24 God is Spirit and those who worship Him MUST
    worship in spirit and truth.

6
HAVE YOU CONSIDERED CHRIST JESUS?
  • HEBREWS 31-3
  • 1 Holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly
calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of
    our confession, Christ Jesus,
  • 2 Who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as
Moses also was faithful in all His house.
  • 3 For this One has been counted worthy of more
glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the
house has more honor than the house.

7
WHAT IS THE SHADOW OF HEAVENLY THINGS?
  • HEBREWS 81-6
  • 1 This is the main point of the things we are
saying We have such a High Priest, who is seated
at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in
    the heavens,
  • 2 A Minister of the sanctuary and of the true
tabernacle which the Lord erected and not man.
  • 3 Every high priest is appointed to offer both
gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary
that this One also have something to offer.
  • 4 If He were on earth, He would not be a priest,
since there are priests who offer the gifts
    according to the law
  • 5 Who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly
things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he
was about to make the tabernacle. For He said,
See that you make all things according to the
pattern shown you on the mountain.
  • 6 But now He has obtained a more excellent
ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a
better covenant, which was established on better
    promises.

8
WHAT WERE THE PATTERNS OF HEAVENLY THINGS
  • HEBREWS 919-26
  • 19 When Moses had spoken every precept to all the
people according to the law, he took the blood of
calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and
hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and
    all the people,
  • 20 Saying, This is the blood of the covenant
    which God has commanded you.
  • 21 Likewise he sprinkled with blood both the
tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry.
  • 22 According to the law almost all things are
purified with blood, and without shedding of
    blood there is no remission.

9
WHAT WERE THE PATTERNS OF HEAVENLY THINGS?
  • HEBREWS 919-26
  • 23 Therefore it was necessary that the copies of
the things in the heavens should be purified with
these, BUT the heavenly things themselves with
    better sacrifices than these.
  • 24 Christ has not entered the holy places made
with hands, which are copies of the true, but
into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence
    of God for us
  • 25 Not that He should offer Himself often, as the
high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year
    with blood of another--
  • 26 He then would have had to suffer often since
the foundation of the world BUT NOW, once at the
end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin
    by the sacrifice of Himself.

10
WHAT WAS A SHADOW OF GOOD THINGS TO COME?
  • HEBREWS 101-4
  • 1 The law, having a shadow of the good things to
come, and NOT the very image of the things, can
never with these same sacrifices, which they
offer continually year by year, make those who
    approach perfect.
  • 2 For then would they not have ceased to be
offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would
have had no more consciousness of sins.
  • 3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of
    sins every year.
  • 4 For it is NOT possible that the blood of bulls
and goats could take away sins.

11
WHAT DID GOD DESIRE?
  • HOSEA 66
  • 6 I desired mercy and not sacrifice. I desired
the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
  • MATTHEW 913
  • 13 Go and learn what this means I desire mercy
and not sacrifice For I did not come to call the
    righteous, BUT sinners, to repentance.
  • WHAT KIND OF SACRIFICE DOES GOD WANT?
  • ROMANS 121
  • 1 I beseech you brethren, by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable
    service.

12
WHY WAS THEIR WORSHIP VAIN?
  • MATTHEW 157-9
  • 7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you,
    Saying
  • 8 These people draw near to Me with their mouth,
and honor Me with their lips, BUT their heart is
    far from Me.
  • 9 In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines
    the commandments of men.

13
WHY WAS THEIR WORSHIP VAIN?
  • MARK 75-9
  • 5 The Pharisees and scribes asked Him, Why do
Your disciples not walk according to the
tradition of the elders, but eat bread with
    unwashed hands?
  • 6 He said to them, Well did Isaiah prophesy of
you hypocrites, as it is written This people
honors Me with their lips, BUT their heart is far
    from Me.
  • 7 In vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines
    the commandments of men.
  • 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, you
hold the tradition of men-- the washing of
pitchers and cups, and many other such things you
    do.
  • 9 He said to them, All too well you reject the
commandment of God, that you may keep your
    tradition.

14
WHAT IS THE LORDS PASSOVER?
  • MATTHEW 2617-20
  • 17 On the first day of the Feast of the
Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus,
saying to Him, Where do You want us to prepare
for You to eat the Passover?
  • 18 He said, Go into the city to a certain man,
and say to him, The Teacher says, My time is at
hand I will keep the Passover at your house with
    My disciples.
  • 19 The disciples did as Jesus had directed them
    and they prepared the Passover.
  • 20 When evening had come, He sat down with the
    Twelve. (LUKE 2215 JOHN 13)
  • 1 CORINTHIANS 57
  • 7 Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you
may be a new lump, since you truly are
unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was
    sacrificed for us.

15
WHAT DID JESUS SAY HE WOULD BUILD?
  • MATTHEW 1613-18
  • 13 Jesus came into the region of Caesarea
Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, Who do
men say that I, the Son of Man, am?
  • 14 So they said, Some say John the Baptist, some
Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the
    prophets.
  • 15 He said to them, But who do you say that I am?
  • 16 Simon Peter said, You are the Christ, the Son
    of the living God.
  • 17 Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon
Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed
this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.
  • 18 I also say to you that you are Peter, and on
this rock I will build My church, and the gates
of Hades shall not prevail against it.

16
WHO DID JESUS SAY HE WOULD SEND?
  • JOHN 167-14
  • 7 I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage
that I go away for if I do not go away, the
Helper will not come to you but if I depart, I
    will send Him to you.
  • 8 When He has come, He will convict the world of
sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment
  • 9 Of sin, because they do not believe in Me
  • 10 Of righteousness, because I go to My Father
and you see Me no more
  • 11 Of judgment, because the ruler of this world
    is judged.

17
WHO DID JESUS SAY HE WOULD SEND?
  • JOHN 167-14
  • 12 I still have many things to say to you, but
    you cannot bear them now.
  • 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has
come, He will guide you into all truth for He
will not speak on His own authority, but whatever
He hears He will speak and He will tell you
    things to come.
  • 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what
is Mine and declare it to you.

18
WHAT WAS THE PROMISE OF THE FATHER?
  • LUKE 2449-53
  • 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon
you BUT tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you
are endued with power from on high.
  • 50 He led them out as far as Bethany. He lifted
up His hands and blessed them.
  • 51 It came to pass, while He blessed them, that
He was parted from them and carried up into
    heaven.
  • 52 They worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem
    with great joy,
  • 53 They were continually in the temple praising
    and blessing God. Amen.

19
WHO SHALL BE BAPTIZED WITH THE HOLY GHOST?
  • ACTS 12-5
  • 2 Until the day in which Jesus was taken up,
after He through the Holy Spirit had given
commandments to the Apostles whom He had chosen,
  • 3 To whom He also presented Himself alive after
His suffering by many infallible proofs, being
seen by them during forty days and speaking of
the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
  • 4 Being assembled with them, He commanded them
not to depart from Jerusalem, BUT to wait for the
Promise of the Father, "which," He said, you have
    heard from Me
  • 5 John truly baptized with water, BUT you shall
be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days
    from now.

20
WHAT HAPPENED ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST?
  • ACTS 21-4
  • 1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they
were all with one accord in one place.
  • 2 Suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of
a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole
    house where they were sitting.
  • 3 There appeared to them divided tongues, as of
fire. One sat on each of them.
  • 4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit
    gave them utterance.

21
WHAT WAS SPOKEN BY THE PROPHET JOEL?
  • ACTS 216-21
  • 16 This is what was spoken by the prophet Joel
  • 17 It shall come to pass in the last days, says
God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all
flesh your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your
    old men shall dream dreams.
  • 18 On My menservants and on My maidservants I
will pour out My Spirit in those days and they
    shall prophesy.
  • 19 I will show wonders in heaven above and signs
in the earth beneath blood and fire and vapor
    of smoke.
  • 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the
moon into blood, before the coming of the great
and awesome day of the Lord.
  • 21 It shall come to pass that whoever calls on
the name of the Lord shall be saved.

22
WHAT ABOUT THE SABBATH DAY?
  • EXODUS 208
  • 8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  • THE SABBATH WAS MADE FOR MAN
  • MARK 227
  • 27 Jesus said, The Sabbath was made for man and
    Not man for the Sabbath.
  • THE SON OF MAN IS LORD OF THE SABBATH
  • MARK 228
  • 28 The Son of man is Lord also of the
    Sabbath. (MATTHEW 128)

23
WHAT ABOUT THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK?
  • MATTHEW 281-7
  • 1 After the Sabbath, as the first day of the week
began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary
    came to see the tomb.
  • 2 Behold, there was a great earthquake an angel
of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and
rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on
    it.
  • 3 His countenance was like lightning and his
    clothing as white as snow.
  • 4 The guards shook for fear of him, and became
    like dead men.
  • 5 The angel said to the women Do not be afraid,
for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
  • 6 He is not here. He is risen as He said. Come
see the place where the Lord lay.
  • 7 Go quickly and tell His disciples that He is
risen from the dead, and indeed He is going
before you into Galilee there you will see Him.
Behold, I have told you. (MARK 161-7 LUKE
    241-6 JOHN 201-14)

24
WHAT ABOUT THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK?
  • JOHN 2019-26
  • 19 The same day at evening, being the first day
of the week, when the doors were shut where the
disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews,
Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to
    them, Peace be with you.
  • 20 When He said this, He showed them His hands
and His side. Then the disciples were glad when
    they saw the Lord.
  • 21 Jesus said to them again, Peace to you! As the
Father has sent Me, I also send you.
  • 22 When He had said this, He breathed on them,
and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit.

25
WHAT ABOUT THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK?
  • JOHN 2019-26
  • 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are
forgiven them if you retain the sins of any,
    they are retained.
  • 24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the
Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
  • 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, We
have seen the Lord. So he said to them, Unless I
see in His hands the print of the nails, and put
my finger into the print of the nails, and put my
hand into His side, I will not believe.
  • 26 After eight days His disciples were again
inside Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors
being shut, and stood in the midst, and said,
    Peace to you!

26
WHAT ABOUT THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK?
  • ACTS 207
  • 7 On the first day of the week the disciples came
together to break bread. Paul, ready to depart
the next day, spoke to them and continued his
    message until midnight. (1 CORINTHIANS
    1123-28)
  • 1 CORINTHIANS 161-2
  • 1 Now concerning the collection for the saints,
as I have given orders to the churches of
Galatia, so you must do also
  • 2 On the first day of the week let each one of
you lay something aside, storing up as he may
prosper, that there be no collections when I come.

27
WHY IS GOD NOT WORSHIPPED WITH MENS HANDS?
  • ACTS 1724-28
  • 24 God, who made the world and everything in it,
since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not
dwell in temples made with hands.
  • 25 Nor is He worshiped with men's hands, as
though He needed anything, since He gives to all
    life, breath, and all things.
  • 26 He has made from one blood every nation of men
to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has
determined their pre-appointed times and the
    boundaries of their dwellings,
  • 27 So that they should seek the Lord, in the hope
that they might grope for Him and find Him,
though He is not far from each one of us
  • 28 For in Him we live and move and have our
being, as also some of your own poets have said,
For we are also His offspring.

28
WHERE IS THE TEMPLE OF GOD TODAY?
  • 1 CORINTHIANS 316
  • 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God
and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
  • 1 CORINTHIANS 619-20
  • 19 Do you not know that your body is the temple
of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have
from God, and you are not your own?
  • 20 You were bought at a price. Therefore glorify
God in your body and in your spirit, which are
    God's.

29
HOW DO CHRISTIANS WORSHIP GOD?
  • PHILIPPIANS 33
  • 3 We are the circumcision, who worship God in the
Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no
    confidence in the flesh.
  • WHO SHALL BOW AND CONFESS TO GOD?
  • ROMANS 1411-12
  • 11 It is written As I live, says the Lord, every
knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall
    confess to God.
  • 12 So then each of us shall give account of
    himself to God.

30
HOW SHOULD MEN SPEAK TODAY?
  • 1 PETER 411
  • 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles
of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as
with the ability which God supplies, that in all
things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ,
to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever
    and ever. Amen.

31
WHAT DID PAUL PREACH?
  • 1 CORINTHIANS 24-8
  • 4 My speech and my preaching was NOT with
persuasive words of human wisdom, BUT in
demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
  • 5 That your faith should NOT be in the wisdom of
men BUT in the power of God.
  • 6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are
mature, yet NOT the wisdom of this age, nor of
the rulers of this age, who are coming to
    nothing.
  • 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery,
the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the
    ages for our glory,
  • 8 Which none of the rulers of this age knew for
had they known, they would not have crucified the
    Lord of glory.

32
HOW SHOULD WE PRAISE GOD?
  • ROMANS 158-9
  • 8 I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to
the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm
the promises made to the fathers,
  • 9 And that the Gentiles might glorify God for His
mercy, as it is written For this reason I will
confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to
    Your name.
  • PSALMS 1849
  • 49 I will give thanks to You, O LORD, among the
Gentiles, and sing praises to Your name.

33
HOW SHOULD WE PRAISE GOD?
  • HEBREWS 212
  • 12 I will declare Your name to My brethren in
the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to
    You.
  • I WILL SING WITH THE SPIRIT
  • 1 CORINTHIANS 1415
  • 15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with
the spirit, and I will also pray with the
understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I
will also sing with the understanding.

34
WHAT SHOULD WE SING TO THE LORD?
  • EPHESIANS 519
  • 19 Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns
and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in
    your heart to the Lord,
  • HOW SHOULD WE SING?
  • COLOSSIANS 316
  • 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in
all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another
in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

35
HOW SHOULD WE PRAY?
  • MATTHEW 2122
  • 22 Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing,
    you will receive.
  • 1 JOHN 322
  • Whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we
keep His commandments and do those things that
    are pleasing in His sight.
  • 1 JOHN 514-15
  • 14 This is the confidence that we have in Him,
that if we ask anything according to His will, He
    hears us.
  • 15 We know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we
know that we have the petitions that we have
    asked of Him.

36
HOW SHOULD WE PRAY?
  • ACTS 242
  • 42 They continued steadfastly in the apostles'
doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of
    bread, and in prayers.
  • ACTS 64
  • 4 We will give ourselves continually to prayer
and to the ministry of the word.
  • 1 CORINTHIANS 1415
  • 15 What is the conclusion then? I will pray with
the spirit, and I will also pray with the
understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I
will also sing with the understanding.

37
WHO SHOULD WE PRAY FOR?
  • 1 THESSALONIANS 12
  • 2 We give thanks to God always for you all,
making mention of you in our prayers.
  • ROMANS 19
  • 9 God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit
in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I
mention of you always in my prayers.
  • EPHESIANS 116
  • 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, making
mention of you in my prayers.

38
HOW DOES THE SPIRIT INTERCEDE FOR US?
  • ROMANS 826
  • 26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our
weaknesses. For we do not know what we should
pray for as we ought, BUT the Spirit makes
intercession for us with groaning which cannot be
    uttered.

39
HOW OFTEN SHOULD WE PRAY?
  • ROMANS 1212
  • 12 Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation,
    continuing steadfastly in prayer.
  • PRAYING ALWAYS FOR ALL SAINTS
  • EPHESIANS 618
  • 18 Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to
this end with all perseverance and supplication
    for all the saints--
  • PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
  • 1 THESSALONIANS 517

40
HOW SHOULD WE PRAY?
  • PHILIPPAINS 19
  • 9 This I pray, that your love may abound still
more and more in knowledge and all discernment.
  • PHILIPPIANS 46
  • 6 Be anxious for nothing, BUT in everything by
prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let
your requests be made known to God.

41
HOW DID PAUL PREACH?
  • 1 CORINTHIANS 24-8
  • 4 My speech and my preaching came NOT with
enticing words of man's wisdom, BUT in
demonstration of the Spirit and of power
  • 5 That your faith should NOT stand in the wisdom
of men, BUT in the power of God.
  • 6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are
perfect yet NOT the wisdom of this world, or of
the princes of this world, that come to nothing
  • 7 We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even
the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the
    world unto our glory
  • 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew
for had they known it, they would not have
    crucified the Lord of glory.

42

WHAT DID PAUL PRAY FOR?
  • EPHESIANS 316-21
  • 16 That He would grant you, according to the
riches of his glory, to be strengthened with
might by His Spirit in the inner man
  • 17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith
that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
  • 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what
is the breadth, and length, and depth, and
    height
  • 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passes
knowledge, that you might be filled with all the
    fullness of God.
  • 20 Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding
abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works in us,
  • 21 Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ
Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.

    all your mind.
  • 38 This is the first and great commandment.

    your neighbor as yourself.

    the Prophets.

heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and
with all your strength this is the First
    Commandment.
  • 31 The second is namely this You shall love your
neighbor as yourself. There is none other
    commandment greater than these.
  • 32 The scribe said to him, well, Master, you have

    is none other but he
  • 33 To love God with all the heart, with all the
