• One day , Billy and Jill went to their
  neighborhood pond in Orange County, to try to
  catch trout. They went to the other side of the
  pond so they wouldnt run into any other
  fisherman. Billy casted his line out into the
  pond, and he felt something tug on his line.

• Billy tried to reel the fish in. The fish was too
  strong for him. Jill tried to hold onto Billy but
  let go and all of a sudden, Billy went flying
  with the pole still in his hand.

• Billy ended up on the other side of the pond,
  with the fishing pole still in his hand. Jill ran
  for help. When Jill came back with her neighbor
  Ricky, they found him on the ground looking at
  the scary looking fish.

• The neighbor was amazed to find the kids had
  caught this fish. He did not know the species of
  the fish. So, Ricky told the kids to go home.
  Ricky then called and reported the snakehead fish
  to the Orange County animal services.

• Once the Animal Services came, they were stunned
  to find that Billy had caught a Snakehead Fish,
  which are only native to China. The Animal
  Services quickly realized that the fish had
  migrated to America as pets! Once the owners
  didnt want them, they would be tossed into a
  lake or pond.

• The poor Snakehead fish could not stay in the
  Orange County pond because he would disrupt the
  population of the fish in that pond. If the
  Snakehead fish stayed in the pond, competition
  would increase among the different types of
  animals. The Snakehead fish had to leave.

If you find a Snakehead fish in your neighborhood
pond, then here are some helpful tips that you
can use

• Call the authorities, like a conservation or
  rescue group.
• Dont try to keep it as a pet. These fish are not
  native so keeping them as pets will only harm
  them.
• Dont eat it!
• Never release snakehead fish or any exotic animal
  into any body of water.
