• THE CITY ASSEMBLY HAS ESTABLISHED A SOCIAL
  HOUSING INSTITUTE(4 MODELS)FOLLOWING THE
  SUGGESTION OF THE CITY ADMINISTRATION AS AN
  ACTION OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT TO SPECIFIC SOCIAL
  PROBLEMS OF THE CITIZENS
• THIS DECISION IMPROVED THE EXISTING SYSTEM OF
  THE SOCIAL PROTECTION, ESPECIALLY OF THE
  MARGINALIZED SOCIAL GROUPS
• (the poorest citizens ,youth with developmental
  challenges, parentless children and the Roma
  population)
• ACTIVE INDIVIDUAL APPROACH TOWARDS PERSONAL
  SOCIAL POSITION IS BEING PROMOTED

  standard that needs to be achived (as defined in
  the Strategy)

• PROJECT ACTIVITIES IN 2008 with the aim to
  prepare resettlement and integration support
• 2 budget lines have been defined (tendering for
  the project selection) for the Roma population on
  the territory of Belgrade
• In the field of educationpreparatory programs
  for school,obtaining qualification for employment
  - (4
  projects -2 million)
• In the field of education, integration and social
  protection- (15projects- 6 million)

• Census from August 2007
• (GCSR,Commission,Secretariat)
• The total of 220 households have been covered by
  census, out of which
• - 130 households(557 citizens of Serbia with
  residence on the territory of Belgrade)
• - 90 households 429 with residence outside
  Belgrade).
• Control census on November 20,2008
• (GCSR,Commission,Secretariat)
• The total of 110 households have been covered
  (465persons citizens of Serbia with residence on
  the territory of Belgrade and 56 households
  (citizens of Serbia with residence outside
  Belgrade).

• Budget for 2008-2009 allocated for the
  realization of the Resettlement Program
• For housing estate and road construction, total
  of 159 million Serbian dinar in 2008
• For NVO project realization total of 8 million
  in 2008
• In 2009 total of 500 million Serbian dinars has
  been planned for
• - housing estate and road construction
• - equipment of housing units
• - obtaining energy supply and other licenses,
  consents
• 8,5 million has been planned for the NVO project
  realization in 2009

• Resettlement program- goals and expectations
• Prevent exclusion and social isolation of the
  Roma population in Belgrade
• Establish conditions for a stable way out and
  improved life from the poverty trap
• Prevent generational poverty inheritance of the
  Roma population

• Establish the model of resettling unsanitary

  the territory of Belgrade

  Secretariat and other relevant institutions
  support in all the phases preparation and actual
  implementation and integration process
