Tips for making effective posters

• Dark B/G, light text (vice versa)
• Use visuals where possible
• No busy graphics
• Hi-res graphics
• LARGE text (24 point min.)
• Best graphic for the job

Example Using graphics

• First, we showed participants a 6min movie of a
  woman performing some every day events2min of
  the movie was removed.
• After a 20min retention interval, we asked
  participants if they recognised parts of the
  movie they had seen (old clips) and the parts we
  removed (missing clips)

Tips for presenting

• Stay with your poster (where possible)
• Take people through your poster
• Remember varied audience!
• Have handouts (if appropriate)
• Your poster is a communication tool
• Take as many questions as you can!!!
