What is IPC?

• Established in 2004 in Brasilia.
• Global centre for applied research and training
  on development policy and for the promotion of
  South-South Cooperation.
• Partnership between UNDP and the Brazilian
  Government.
• Within UNDP Linked to the Poverty Practice of
  the Bureau for Development Policy.
• Within the Brazilian Government Linked to the
  Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea),
  the Secretariat for Strategic Affairs at the
  Presidency of the Republic.

• IPCs knowledge-sharing network covers 189
  countries.
• 9 publication types in 4 different languages,
  covering 16 thematic areas.

• 1-2 new publications per week sent to 27,000
  people, including 3,200 UNDP staff.
• Training Sessions, Study Tours and Conferences
  have thus far involved more than 7,000
  representatives of around 50 developing
  countries.
