4
Function of Organs in Male Reproductive System
  • Bladder Collects urine from your kidneys and
stores it until it is released from the urethra.
  • Vas deferens Main function is to transport
seminal fluid and mature sperm to the urethra.
  • Seminal vesicle Make up half of the fluid of
    semen, rich in fructose.
  • Prostate gland Main role is to make fluid that
    feeds and protects sperm.
  • Ejaculatory duct Empties seminal fluid and
    mature sperm in the urethra.

5
Functions of Organs in Male Reproductive System
(cont.)
  • Rectum Storage facility for feces
  • Urethra Runs from bladder to end of penis.
Carries semen out of the body
  • Epididymis Where sperm passes when they leave
the testes. Spend 2 to 10 days in it.
  • Penis Used for sexual intercourse and urination.
  • Testis Produce sperm and testosterone.
  • Scrotum Holds the testes in place.

6
Function of Organs in the Female Reproductive
System
  • Uterus Develops the fetus.
  • Ovary Produce eggs and hormones
  • Cervix Gets larger to allow the fetus to pass
    through.
  • Urinary bladder Collects and stores urine.
  • Symphysis Pubis In front of pelvis
  • Rectum Storage for feces
  • Vagina Known as the birth canal.

7
Function of Organs in the Female Reproductive
System (cont.)
  • Mons Pubis Flesh above the genitals.
  • Clitoris Pleasure is its main function.
  • Labia majora Protect external reproductive
    organs.
  • Labia minora The smaller lips of the vulva.
  • Urethra Discharges urine.

8
How to reproduce
  • After intercourse
  • Male achieves orgasm and sperm is released into
    the vagina.
  • Sperm makes its way through the vagina and
cervix, through the uterus, and into the
    fallopian tubes.
  • When sperm fertilizes an egg from the ovaries and
    reaches the uterus, pregnancy begins!

9
Pregnancy
  • Usually takes 38 weeks from fertilization

10
Childbirth
  • First stage Cervix gets fully dilated
  • Second stage Begins once you are fully dilated
and ends with the birth of your baby.
  • Third stage After your baby is born, the
    placenta seperates.

11

    epididymitis, hydrocele, inguinal hernia,
inflammation of the penis, hypospadias, phimosis,
    pharaphimosis, ambiguous genitalia, micropenis.
