• How you need to build your systems around being
  open and positioning yourself (your IT function)
  for the future instead of focusing on just your
  current needs.
• Start with corporate strategy and corporate goals
  - what happens in IT has to align with corporate
  goals
• The tools and processes to create reusable
  patterns of architecture to do the above
• What an enterprise architecture program comprises
  and how to design it
• The role and importance of an architect in an
  organization
• Business have to start thinking about their
  systems and IT like city planners
• Business has to start thinking of IT as a
  strategic resource instead of an expense to the
  business
• Start by bringing 1 or 2 technology architectures
  together into a comprehensive EA program
• It is not crazy to desire EA, even if it is not
  your current business practice
• Is an ongoing act of discovery, its all about
  organizing the enterprise in a way that everybody
  can understand and it facilitates integration
• Surprised by how many organizations do not have
  architectures in place
• Step by step process, do not bite off more than
