20Volunteering at FAST
- 10 hours of help every 6 months or pay 100
opt-out per family - September 1 through end of February
- March 1 through August 31
- FAST would rather get your help than collect the
fee - More equitable distribution of work
- Avoid paying an administrator / increasing
training fees - Lots of help needed for our Oct 31-Nov 1 meet !

- Forms must be signed by a coach or board member

23FAST and FWISD
- FAST rents pool space from the FWISD
- We cherish our good relationship
- Rules
- NO food or drink
- Kids MUST be supervised by parents off-deck
- NO PETS
- No free admission to events at WGAC, dont peek
in - Only the FAST board will phone or talk to FWISD.
- Fire door (stairwell exit) only used when lobby
is closed off - No parking in the firelane

26Swimmer Classifications
- Swimmers are classified by achieving time
standards - 13 and older are automatically at least BB
- New swimmers 12 and younger start as C
- The fastest standard for 3 events determines
classification. - 1 A time, 2 BB times, 5 B times is a BB
swimmer - Ask your coach if you are not sure or check
FASTs website - Some meets allow Exhibition swims
27Meet Policies and Procedures
- FAST team swim suits are mandatory
- NO FASTSKINs without Head Coach pre-approval
- Caps must be FAST caps
- Arrive 10-15 minutes before team warm-up
- Report to coach before warm-up begins
- Swimmers check themselves in for their events
- Meet with coach immediately after each race
- Sit with teammates

29New Records Statistics
- 31 swimmers broke team records
- All age groups and both genders
- 16 swimmers broke individual records, 15
relay-only swimmers - 217 records were broken
- 124 Individual, 93 Relay records
- 16 North Texas LSC records broken
- 17 Texas State records broken
- Oldest record dated back to 1979
- One was a world record when set in 1980

33Officiating Needs
- USA Swimming relies on volunteer officials
- FAST needs more officials
- Training Saturday 20 September at GCAT
- Tremendously rewarding experience
- Attend a clinic, take a test, then
- apprentice at 4 meets.
- You do not need to know how to swim!
34Meet Classifications
- Meets are classified by times
- A, BB, B/C (or BB/B/C)
- A meets are the fastest developmental meets
- BB/B/C meets are entry level and intermediate
- Swimmers only swim meets they are qualified for

- B/C swimmers are encouraged, must sign up
- BB swimmers are expected to attend, must sign
up - A swimmers are expected to attend meets.
- FAST may enter unless notification in
writing/website signup. - Use the web signup form to indicate yes/no
