    officials.
  • They were headquartered in Oakland, CA. and
created by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale.
  • They were originally named the Black Panther
    Party for Self-Defense.
  • The ten point program demanded decent housing

thus, the organization dissipated slowly over the
    years.

programs that promised to address the needs of
    the urban black community.
  • On April 25th, 1967, The Black Panther, the
    partys official newspaper, went into
    distribution.

power , served as the prime ministers as the
Black Panthers. He was previously the chairman of
    SNCC.
  • He wrote the book Black Power in 1967 which he
    co-wrote with Charles Hamilton.
  • He explained that supporters of black power
increased black political and economic power and

On the victory platform as the US anthem played,
they bowed their heads, and, each wearing a black
glove, raised a clenched fist in a black power

  • Malcolm X and his black Muslims challenged Kings
integrationist message, calling for a separate

peace and as an answer to a prayer of Abraham to
deliver his people who would be found in
servitude slavery in the Western Hemisphere in
    this day and time.
