A Reptile is

• A vertebrate -- they have an internal skeleton
  with a backbone.

What do Reptiles look like?

• Reptiles are tetra pods -- they have four legs
  or their ancestors had four legs. (Even snakes,
  whose legs have been lost, are tetra pods.)
• Most reptiles are ectotherms or cold-blooded
  -they use their environment to warm and cool
  their bodies.

Characteristics of Reptiles

• Reptiles have hard, dry skin.
• Reptiles have clawed feet and are mostly land
  animals.
