Hillary Rodham Clinton -Biography

• October 26, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois
• Lived with mom, dad, and two younger brothers
• In high school she actively participated in the
  debate team, student council, and the National
  Honors Society
• Attended Wellesley College where she majored in
  political science
• While attending Wellesley she started dating Bill
  Clinton and two years after graduating married
  him
• Attended Yale Law School in New Haven,
  Connecticut
• In 1980 she gave birth to her daughter, Chelsea

• Chaired the Arkansas Educational Standards

• Served on the boards of the Arkansas Childrens

• Wrote a weekly newspaper column entitled Taking
  It Over

• Iraq War- voted for the war in October of 2002,
  but now regrets doing so
• Health Care- wants to provide federally accessed
  universal health care
• Education- voted on the No Child Left Behind Act
  in 2001
• Abortion- stands by the right of a woman to have
  an abortion
• Gun Control- favors sensible gun control
  legislation

the Issues

• Gay Rights- she opposes moves to create a
  constitutional amendment that permanently rules
  out gay marriage
• Economy- supports businesses and efforts to
  ensure job creation and economic growth
• Tax/Budget- wants to do something about the AMT
• Social Security- believes that it is in
  everyones best interest to preserve and
  strengthen Social Security
• Energy/Oil- we can solve these problems if we
  focus on innovation and technology
