7The new Danish programme for research
infrastructures will support..
- Establishment of large, national research
infrastructures - Danish participation in international research
infrastructures - Design studies, feasibility studies etc.
8Who can apply?
- Universities and other research institutions (Top
management) - hopefully in consortia's that includes all
relevant Danish research institutions.
9Guiding principles
- All projects will be examined with regards to
both their scientific value and the possible
strategic impact - Possibility for prioritization between national
and international projects within all fields of
science - Projects will only be funded if the realization
of the project is in line with the strategic
planning of the possible hosting institution
10Criteria
- The programme will mainly support projects of a
minimum of 20 mio. DKK - The state grant will cover up to 80 of the
total investment - The institutions must commit the necessary human
resources and capital resources in order to
achieve the optimum use of the research
infrastructure need to have/nice to have. - The programme supports the establishment or
construction of research infrastructures only
in special cases you can get support to cover
operational costs.
11In the end the minister decides on the basis of..
- The results of a hearing process among major
stakeholders regarding the needs and relevance of
the suggested project - The recommendation of the Expert Committee

16Status
- November 2006 DASTI initiated a hearing procedure
amongst Danish research institutions and councils
(80 parties were addressed) - We received 16 answers (universities and
councils) - Indications of
- interests in a role as a facility host
- interests in a role as facility partner (incl.
leading partnership) - interests in a role as user of the facility
- The feed back focuses on 8 10 of the roadmap
initiatives
17Indications of Danish priorities
18Activities to come..
- Evaluation and qualification of results of
hearing (national workshop 28. march) stimulate
the process of establishing groups both with
regard to the national programme and the
ESFRI-roadmap. - Danish roadmap on research infrastructures (we
start after we have had the experience from the
fist call in 2007) - Facilitating and coordinating national
initiatives (focused analysis, mappings etc.) - Evaluation of current Danish membership of
international research infrastructures (2008-)
