Scantron Score

• Use the numerical score on the Scantron (printed
  by the machine or if there is a correction, use
  the handwritten corrected score) and divide it by
  30, to get the percentage on the Scantron.
• This eliminates two wrong answers questions
  that could have been interpreted to have more
  than one correct answer.
• Your revised percentage (handwritten on the
  right) is indicated on the Scantron form

Essay Score

• Essay questions are 10 points each
• Compute your percentage on the essay, by dividing
  your total score (on both questions) by 20.

Final Score

• The Scantron portion of the exam has an 80
  weight and the essay portion 20 (as indicated in
  exam format).
• Compute your final score on the exam
• 0.8 (Scantron revised score) 0.2 (essay
  score)
• If this score has decimal places (for e.g 83.33
  or 87.67, round it up to the next number)
• Add one point to the score from the previous
  step, to get your final score on the exam
• This is done to ensure that you do not miss a
  grade cut-off by a point.
• This final score is indicated on your Scantron
  (circled, on the left) and is used to determine
  your grade. Grades indicated on the Scantron

Final Scores

• To compute your final score for the entire class,
  the circled score from the Scantron will be used
  (NOT the grade)
• The grade is assigned to give you an idea of the
  distribution and your relative standing in class
