What are the attributes of collaborative
leadership?

• Ability to create an environment where all
  stakeholders work together toward a shared
  vision.
• Create an environment that facilitates the
  development of trust, open communication and
  sharing of power.
• Leaders incorporate resisters into the
  process.Separate departments tend to communicate
  infrequently and often have no true understanding
  of one another.
• Delegation, teamwork and organizational
  participation.
• Leadership is needed for problems that do not
  have easy answers.

What could one expect to see in a school that
functions as a Professional Learning Community?

• Clear sense of mission.
• Shared vision of conditions required to achieve
  their mission.
• Collaborative teams / best practices.
• Action taken to reduce any discrepancy.
• Cycle of continuous improvement-data analysis,
  identification of weaknesses, working together to
  identify strategies to address concerns, support
  for each other as these strategies are
  implemented,assessment of the success of these
  strategies.

What makes a good education system?

• Public engagement.
• Advocacy.
• Children working in teams groups.
• System is not top down.
• Collaborative leadership / partners (Teachers,
  parents, volunteers, support staff,community
  members).
• Open communication.

ConclusionWhat makes a good school?

• Safe,caring socially just learning environment.
• Major focus upon learning for each child.
• Broad encompassing curriculum cognitive,
  affective, spiritual psychomotor domains of
  learning.
• Students are encouraged to be critical thinkers
  and problem solvers.
• Every child is given the wish to learn.
• Collaborative leadership / partners.
• Teachers are leaders.
• Schools are viewed as communities of learners.
• Central purpose of school is learning.
