Course description
  • Required for incoming graduate students with
    research emphasis in Molecular Biology,
    Microbiology, or Veterinary Science, within the
    Biological Sciences graduate program.
  • Provides cutting-edge, comprehensive knowledge in
    molecular and cellular biology and will provide a
    solid foundation for students in their research
    programs.
  • Perspective will be gained on what is known and
    what is unknown in the general fields of cellular
    structure, organization, and function.

Freedom in learning
  • Students are responsible for learning the content
    of any course of study in which they are
    enrolled. Under Board of Regents and University
    policy, student academic performance shall be
    evaluated solely on an academic basis and
    students should be free to take reasoned
    exception to the data or views offered in any
    course of study.
  • Students who believe that an academic evaluation
    is unrelated to academic standards but is related
    instead to judgment of their personal opinion or
    conduct should first contact the instructor of
    the course.
  • If the student remains unsatisfied, the student
    may contact the department head and/or dean of
    the college which (sic) offers the class to
    initiate a review of the evaluation.

Exam policy
  • Exams will be taken at the scheduled place and
    time, except in the case of an SDSU-excused
    absence or an unexpected emergency.
  • Notification of a missed exam will be made in
    advance.
  • Make-up examinations will be scheduled at the
    convenience of the instructor and will be oral or
    written essay only.
  • Students found to be cheating on examinations
    will fail the course.
  • Cheating is defined in the Student Policy Manual.
