Title: Peeling the Layers of a Renaissance Man
1Peeling the Layersof a Renaissance Man
2Student Presentation
3- The period known as the Renaissance, which
means rebirth in French, was a distinct time in
human development.
4- It was marked by radical and comprehensive
changes. Although these changes took place in
Europe they have affected people around the world
for centuries.
5- If you could sweep away the layers of four
centuries worth of dust and step into the lives
of individuals what would you find?
6These activities will help you remove the layers
from two peoples lives so you can recognize their
characteristics and qualities that made them
outstanding contributors to society.
7- Outstanding people emerged to leave their mark
on the world. However, one man stood out among
all of the rest.
8- His personal characteristics of curiosity,
observation, and investigation were as unique in
the 16th century as they are today.
These qualities led others to later classify him
as the first Renaissance Man.
9 What were his personal characteristics?
- How do these individuals affect me today?
- Could anyone from American qualify as a
Renaissance Man?
10By the time you finish this project you will be
able to
- Describe the original Renaissance Man, his
characteristics or qualities and his choices in
life that led him to excel. - Identify an American Renaissance Man, his
characteristics or qualities and his choices in
life that led him to excel. - Analyze the social environment that allowed these
men to excel. - Compare/contrast these two individuals.
