- The express industrys voice in Europe
2- The EEA was created on 1 January 2000 and
comprises DHL, FedEx, TNT, UPS and national
express associations. - Represents the interests of the express industry
in Europe in areas such as customs, postal,
security and transport environment. - The objectives of the Transport Environment
Committee - Ensure that the express industry is able to
continue to fly at night, - with its current fleet until the end of a
reasonable economic life, - under a legal and regulatory framework agreed,
where possible, at the global level rather than
the EU, national or local level.

express industry currently supports 530,000 jobs
in total in the EU. - Express industry to grow by an average of 9 a
year in real terms between 2003 and 2013. - Direct contribution of the express industry to EU
GDP is set to more than double by 2013 to about
EUR 25 billion in todays prices. - Fast growth expected to lead to a direct
employment of 500,000 by 2013. - These figures do not even include the so-called
catalytic impact of the express industry.
