School Discipline Code
  • Take a look at the yellow page, the chart at the
    back of the handbook that describes the State of
    Californias Education Code information on
    suspensions and expulsions.

Rule Violations
  • Disrupting school activities
  • Willful defiance of school authority
  • Causing physical harm
  • Using force or violence
  • Threatening to cause injury
  • Possessing a weapon, firearm, knife
  • Possessing look-alike weapons/guns
  • Possessing, selling or furnishing drugs
  • Robbery or extortion
  • Sexual harassment
  • Caused, attempted to cause, or participated in an
    act of hate violence
  • Aiding or abetting a fight
  • Stealing or attempting to steal
  • Receiving stolen property
  • Cause / attempt to cause property damage

  • When leaving your classroom for lunch, you must
    walk!

Lunch Rules
  • 1. Do not cut in line.
  • 2. Do your part put trash in trash cans!

3. No popping bags, milk cartons, etc. 4. Food
is not allowed down in the PE area (keep it
behind the blue line). 5. Students must wait for
a campus supervisor before going down to the
blacktop/field area. 6. No tackling in football
or other games. 7. 900 quad, hallways, 300
building area, etc. --- off limits at lunch.

Discipline Point System
  • All students begin the year with 0 points.
  • 1 point is given for infractions and may result
    in
  • Lunch Duty and/or Gum Club
  • Detention
  • Before school
  • At break
  • At lunch
  • After school

"Campus Beautification"
2 points are given for infractions that result in
On Campus Suspension (OCS).
3 points are given for infractions that result in
suspension.
Most students remain at 0 points the whole
year! They sail through middle school!

Attendance
  • Be at school when your are healthy!
  • If you are ill, have your parent or guardian call
    the attendance hotline to clear all absences.
  • If you feel sick at school, do NOT call or text
    your parent. Come to the Health Office!
  • When you return, be sure to talk with your
    teacher about making up any missed work.

BICYCLES
  • Bikes
  • Wear a helmet its the law!
  • Walk your bike while on campus!
  • Lock your bike prevent theft!
  • (The school is not responsible for theft or
    damage.)
  • Once your bike is locked, you need to come
    inside the school gates.

Skateboards NOT allowed. Rollerblades NOT
allowed. Scooters NOT allowed

Computer and Internet Use
  • Each student must have the proper completed form
    signed by a parent or guardian.
  • Read the rules for use carefully.
  • School computers are for school work and school
    research.
  • Inappropriate use of computers will result in
    disciplinary action.

DRESS CODE
  • Students will earn discipline points for dress
    code violations.
  • Some examples of appropriate clothing
  • Free of writing or pictures that are crude,
    vulgar, profane, sexually suggestive, or related
    to drugs, alcohol, tobacco or violence.
  • Does not advocate racial, ethnic or religious
    prejudice.
  • Does not have studded or spiked projections.
  • No see-through or fish-net fabric.

Dress Code
  • NO halter tops, off the shoulder, low cut tops or
    bare midriffs. Girls shirts must cover from the
    neckline to the edge of the shoulder and no
    spaghetti/thin straps are allowed.
  • Skirts/shorts must be an appropriate length
    mid-thigh.
  • No torn or shredded clothing allowed.
  • Student writing on clothing is not allowed.
  • No nose, lip, or other facial piercings are
    allowed.
  • Read your planner carefully for specific rules on
    dress code.

Dress code loaners given to offender to wear for
the day!

  • Keep your family information up to date!

Retrieval Table
  • Any items, such as lunches or school work,
    brought to school by parents or guardians, will
    be left on the retrieval table which is located
    in the front office.
  • It is the students responsibility to check to
    see if something was left for them.
  • The office will not interrupt classes to let the
    student know something has arrived.

Promotion Requirements
  • Promotion and participation in some activities
    requires a 2.0, no Fs in language arts and/or
    math, and no Fs in more than one other subject.
  • (See Student Handbook for details.)
  • Academic Excellence allows membership in CJSF.
    Listen to announcements for details.

Health Office
  • Students are not allowed to carry medication
    during the school day. All medication must be
    kept in the Health Office.
  • This includes over-the-counter medication such as
    Tylenol or cough syrup.
  • See Mrs. Ellis, our Health Clerk, for the proper
    paperwork if you need to take medication. You
    may also have your parent/guardian call her.

  • Check grades regularly on-line.
  • Progress Reports Students take home two times
    each semester not the official/final grade.
  • Report Card Mailed home at the end of each of
    the two semesters.
  • This is your grade of record the official grade.

Media Center
  • Available for textbook checkout.
  • If books are damaged or lost, you will be
    charged.

Lost and Found Items
Put in the wire basket in the Media Center
Hallway and/or in the P.E. locker rooms.

Electronic Devices
Electronic devices, including iPods and MP3
players, are NOT to be used on campus! If you
choose to bring them to school, they are to be
kept turned off. The school is NOT responsible
for any lost, damaged or stolen
property. Confiscated items must be picked up by
a parent.

PHONE USE
  • Students are not allowed to use cell phones at
    school.
  • Students must wait until outside the gates to use
    phones after school.
  • That means
  • NO texting
  • NO talking
  • NO taking pictures
  • If you use your phone at school, it will be
    confiscated, and your parent/guardian will have
    to pick it up!

  • We appreciate your cooperation and positive
