State Flag

• The State Flag was adopted in 1956. One-third of
  the flag is a verticle bar of blue containing the
  state sealan arch, representing the state
  constitutionthree colums bearing the state motto
  Wisdom, Justice, and Moderationand the date
  1776 the year Georgia signed the Declaration of
  Independence. The battle flag of the Confederacy
  occupies the remaining two-thirds of the flag.

  minted in Daholenga, Georgia, from 1838 to 1861.
