Objectives

• To understand what must be produced during the
  detailed design phase
• To be aware of what are the three main components
  of the design
• To have started on a script

Detailed Design

• The plans for your animated story
• You have to produce 3 things
• A script
• Storyboards (one for each page)
• A flowchart showing order of pages/action
• You will need to learn
• How to write a script
• How to layout a storyboard
• How to use flowchart symbols

Some examples

• A script
• A storyboard
• A flowchart
• These are not definitive you can create your
  own styles, layouts, etc, although there are
  conventions
• They can be written on the computer or hand drawn
  and scanned in later
• All of these, can be worked on outside lessons

Writing a script

• It contains
• Dialogue
• Action directions (whats going on / who does
  what)
• Setting of the location/background
• Breaks in scenes / pages
• Look again at the example script and try to find
  the four different areas
• Time to jointly write a one scene script

• Together, lets write the script
• Easy isnt it?!
• Your task .. Take your proposal or mind map and
  start wrting the script for your story.
• Get frequent feedback from someone else to see if
  they can envisage the scenes without asking
  questions

Plenary

• Lets act out a few scripts as far as theyve been
  written volunteers?
• You should work on the scripts over half term so
  that you can move on with the SPB
