WE SHOULD REMEMBER

• The ability to remember is a wonderful gift God
  has given us.
• Memories may be happy or sad but time cannot rob
  us of our memories.
• Memories are practical.  What if we forgot that a
  red light means "stop"?

WE SHOULD REMEMBER

• MEMORY MAY FAIL US AND WE NEED THINGS TO JOG OUR
  MEMORIES.
• NOAH - God gave a rainbow to remind us of his
  covenant.  Gen. 912-17
• The monument built on the banks of the Jordan.
  Josh. 44-7
• THERE ARE SPECIAL DAYS AND TIMES IN THE BIBLE TO
  HELP US REMEMBER.

WE SHOULD REMEMBER

• THE FEAST OF THE PASSOVER
• God brought the Children of Israel out of
  Egyptian bondage through a series of plagues.
• The Israelites were to kill a lamb, without spot
  or blemish, and put the blood over their doorpost
  to avoid the final plague.
• We should offer our best to God.
• They were to remember the Passover each year.  We
  should never forget the lamb that was sacrificed
  for us.

WE SHOULD REMEMBER

• THE DAY OF WORSHIP
• God created the world in six days and rested the
  seventh.
• The Jews were told to "remember the Sabbath Day.
• Jesus was crucified, buried and rose from the
  dead on the first day of the week.
• After the day of Pentecost those being added to
  the church met on the first day of the week.
• John said he was "in the spirit" on the Lord's
  Day.  Rev. 110
• Part of our worship is remembering what God has
  done for us.
• We remember our sin and how unworthy we are of
  God's love.

WE SHOULD REMEMBER

• A MEAL OF REMEMBERANCE
• Before his crucifixion Jesus celebrated the
  Passover with his disciples.
• As they ate, Jesus gave them something new,
  something greater to remember.  1 Cor. 1124-25
• Why did Jesus say "this cup is the NEW
  covenant?
• Jer. 3131-34 and Heb. 88-12
• It is also a proclamation of unity.  1 Cor.
  1016-17

WE SHOULD REMEMBER

• WE HAVE MUCH TO REMEMBER. 
• WE NEED TO TAKE TIME THIS WEEKEND  TO REMEMBER
  THE SCACRIFICE OF LIVES FOR OUR FREEDOM AND THE
  SACRIFICE OF ONE LIFE FOR OUR ETERNAL SALVATION.
