How do I connect these new devices to my TV?

• Current conventional connections such as Coaxial
  Cable and standard Composite Video or S-Video
  cannot pass high definition signals

HDMI

• This connection looks similar to a USB connection
  from your PC, but is much larger
• This is the connector of choice for many since it
  transfers audio and video on one cable

DVI

• DVI- This connection type started in the PC world
  and then evolved into CE. This was a temporary
  answer to transferring digital media and has
  mainly been replaced by HDMI

Component

• This was the original type of connection used to
  transfer HD images, there are 3 connections on
  each end of the cable
• Although there are 3 connections, this will only
  transfer video and another cable is necessary to
  transfer audio
