  • Low students enrollment-Undergraduate
  • General lack of students motivation to produce
    high quality work
  • Recruitment Difficulties
  • Qualified candidates are limited in some areas
    of ARE and CEM
  • Low faculty retention rate in ARC.

  • Graphics simulation and 3D-presentations need
    advanced computational facilities.
  • Lack of qualified lab technicians/ secretarial
    support
  • No accreditation process was conducted for ARC
    and the CRP programs

  • Lack of department control over the performance
    of graduate assistant studying overseas (ARC).
  • Limited Spaces in B19 for Studios, teaching labs
    and faculty offices
  • Offices and studio spaces were converted to
    classrooms, such changes affect the quality of
    education.

What We will Do?
  • Strategy improvement to promote the undergraduate
    programs in CED.
  • Self-running CD about department produced (ARE)
  • Plan to Organize an Open Day and participate in
    Major Selection event
  • Visit Prep Year and give presentations
  • Intensify the search for qualified faculty in CEM
    and ARE

What We will Do?
  • Intensify the effort to get back the space in B19
  • Improve on the industry-college relationship
  • Streamline the process of incorporating the
    computer applications in the courses (CEM)
  • Revise the name of CEM department to make it more
    general to accommodate the new development in the
    area.

  • Developed a state-of-the-art specialized Building
    Materials Acoustical Testing Facility (BAT Lab)
  • Undergraduate Programs are currently being
    revised to add two GS courses

  • Expedite the textbooks acquisition process in the
    new programs (EM and CP)
  • Participate effectively in the changes, and
    strive hard to improve quality of teaching,
    research and community services

  • We are aware of the challenges facing the
    college. However, We will continue to participate
    in the continuous improvement and in making the
    change.
