1.2 XML Web Services Working Group

• Chartered by the Federal CIO Council under its
  Architecture and Infrastructure Committee
  (CIOC/AIC)
• Co-chairs John Gilligan (CIO, Air Force) and
  Debra Stouffer (CTO, EPA).
• Works with the CIOC/AIC and the OMB Solution
  Architects Working Group (SAWG) to produce
  incubator pilot projects in support of the e-Gov
  Initiatives that use XML Web Services to
  demonstrate increased accessibility and
  interoperability.

• One of the six initial incubator pilot projects
  (Distributed Content Authoring and Management)
  involves state of the environment content like
  the State of the Chesapeake Bay 2002.
• Another pilot is the XML Collaborator and
  Registry software for building distributed XML

  repositories like the NEIEN.
