• can see that its flowing (streaklines)
• can you tell flow direction?
• another glacier on the left blocks flow
• from entering that valley
• some ice is trying to run over the rock
• outcrop (nunatak) in the middle of the
• image crevasses created there

• Interesting features
• crevasses are huge 10 m across by 1km long
• crevasses are created where ice is being pulled
  apart
• at a fast rate. This usually happens when
  fast-
• moving ice is flowing adjacent to slow-moving
  ice.
• How can one determine the flow direction of the
  fast
• moving ice?
• where the ice is not being as quickly pulled
  apart
• (towards the lower right of the image)
  crevasses are
• less active. Here snow bridges hide crevasses
  and
• can be dangerous to camp near.
• some snow bridges have collapsed into the
• crevasses below.

If you stretch it slowly ice thins
