• Spy Sweeper is a program that detects and removes
  existing spyware, and blocks new threats before
  people can infect their PCs.

• Spyware is malicious software designed to steal
  user information for the another persons
  financial gain.
• This software come in several forms Trojans, Key
  loggers, Adware and System monitors.

How is it used

• Spy Sweeper Client is loaded on UCSF computers
  and monitors the system from a task bar icon.
  Spy Sweeper, performs a scan of the computers at
  startup and at pre-scheduled times.

Who can install and use it

• Spy Sweeper is available to all members of the
  UCSF community for use on UCSF-owned and personal
  computers

UCSF Support Model

• Users contact CSCs
• If CSC cannot resolve the CSC contact OAAIS help
  desk
• OAAIS contacts Webroot.

• Windows based operating systems 98 SE, ME or
  NT(with IE 6.0 SP1), or 200x, XP
• 300 MHz processor
• 128 MB of RAM
• 40 MB of disk space

• Cannot uninstall application from the control
  panel
• SSECleanup.exe will remove the application
• SSECleanup Remove removes Spy Sweeper and
  registry keys.
